The Sesami Project

The Sesami Project is continuing to seek funding and support to develop an initial working model based in Wexford, Ireland. We have signed a memorandum of understanding with the Waterford Institute of Technology and the IDSC for the development of Sesami. This will assist in the development of a funding proposal to the Irish government. The project proposal will ensure that end users of the services are fully involved in the development process and testing. The project will establish the following groups:

It is expected that a complete town or central part of this will eventually be encoded for accessibility purposes, including all bus stations, train stations, ports and airports. The results from this process will be used to test the Sesami solution by testing all the component parts and refining the model with the feedback gained from user testing.

The Sesami Project - Europe

The Project Management Team has initiated contact with a number of European organisations, to build a European project.

Contact is being made with prominent foundations and trusts to identify their support. A number of prominent European based technology businesses have been approached and their support for the project has been confirmed.

Currently we are initiating an approach to the Irish government and this will be completed in September 2005.

We successfully participated in the EU Project Sport4all and gained a valuable insight into accessibility needs in different EU countries.

Sesami has been presented at a number of EU venues, gaining support for its introduction.
