Organisations of all types have a need to provide information to people. There is a growing realisation that this includes accessibility information. This need is being supported by the need for business and other organisations to positively demonstrate their wish to meet the needs of all members of the community and also conform to the growing body of legislation that supports the social need for non discrimination in relation to accessibility.
Sesami services are designed, not only to meet this growing body of legislation, but to positively empower organisations and their staff to be pro active in providing potential customers and others in distributing the actual information required by any individual about accessibility levels in your premises.
To participate in Sesami, an organisation requires to complete a premises survey. This survey can be completed with the forms that will shortly be avaialble from this site.
Alternatively, you can request fro a survey to be completed by a Sesami accessibility surveyor.
When the survey is completed, the results are fed into the Sesami information engine and this creates a set of codes that define the accessibility levels of the facilities on your premises. The resulting file can be downloaded to a local computer for the use of your staff, so that not only does it become an in house resource, it provides staff with an always on resource.
Once this facility is in place, your staff will be able to put in a Sesami users personal code and this will generate a text file indicating their ability to access your building and the services that you have on offer.
This provides your staff with a facility that will save them and the enquirer time will potentially avoid difficulties.
In addition to the program, your company and building will be entered into the online database for remote enquiries. You also receive display panels for door entry and reception display that indicate general levels of accessibility and more importantly your committment to accessibility for all.
